November 17, Santa Barbara, Iloilo
The “Cry of Santa Barbara” reminisces the town’s painful yet shining moments during the dark days of its struggle against Spanish tyranny and oppression. This milestone was carved with blood and sacrifices and in its core is laid the vibrant vestige of gallantry and heroism that only selfless people with innate love and devotion for the nation could portray. It has made martyrs and heroes of men. The Visayan patriots led by Gen. Martin T. Delgado have bequeathed to us an immortal legacy of freedom. The Cry of Santa Barbara is an unfading memorial of great courage and self-abnegation for the sake of country and fellowmen.
